Razorbacks Ready for Regional Contest With Oklahoma

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. No. 47 Arkansas looks to extend a four-match win streak Friday when it hosts regional rival and 62nd-ranked Oklahoma at 5 p.m. at the Dills Indoor Tennis Center in Fayetteville.

The Razorbacks (5-3) are fresh off a three-match sweep Tuesday, taking two from Cowley County Community College and one from Wichita St. Arkansas has won its last four matches. Oklahoma (3-1) has won two of its last three, including a win against Southern Illinois last time out.

Since 1985, Arkansas leads the series between the two schools, 3-1. The Hogs won last year’s meeting in Norman, 5-2.

Each team features one ranked singles player. Arkansas boasts 57th-ranked Blake Strode, who is 13-4 and 4-1 in duals. Oklahoma’s Marek Velicka is ranked 74th.

This is the Hogs’ last home match until they host Vanderbilt March 9. UA will play seven road matches in between.

The dual match between the Razorbacks and Sooners is slated for a 5 p.m. first serve at the Dills Indoor Tennis Center. The Dills Center is located across from Bud Walton Arena on Razorback Road. Free pizza and beverages will be available for fans.
