FAYETTEVILLE — For the first time since the 2004 season, the University of Arkansas volleyball team is receiving votes in the AVCA Division I Coaches Top 25 Poll. The Razorbacks carry a 6-1 record through the first two weeks of the season with the team’s only loss coming on the road at then-No. 22 Michigan. Arkansas is one of five teams from the Southeastern Conference either ranked or receiving votes in this week’s national poll. The Razorbacks have registered early season victories over Tulsa and Central Michigan, teams that advanced to last year’s NCAA Tournament. The team began the season with a tournament title at the Arkansas Invitational having posted wins over UT-Martin, Northwestern State and Kansas in the championship match. Arkansas returns to its home court Tuesday evening for a midweek matchup against regional foe Oklahoma. First serve of the match is set for 7 p.m. (CT) at Barnhill Arena. All general admission tickets are $1 for the Razorbacks’ match with the Sooners. Fans 17 years and under get in free. University of Arkansas students attending volleyball matches this season are asked to use the street-level entrance on Stadium Drive to enter Barnhill Arena.
