FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas swimming and diving team returned this past weekend from a winter training trip in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. where it competed in a pair of relays with fellow SEC program Vanderbilt. The trip served as a warm up for the spring half of the season that begins this weekend.The team of Katie Davis, Elizabeth Engs, Katie Whitbeck and Erica Totten swam a winning time of 4:39.66 against the Commodores in the 400 medley relay. In the 400 freestyle relay, Whitbeck, Sarah Howard, Summer Jackson and Jillienne Schilling took the win in a time of 4:14.55. Both relays were swam long course.
Arkansas dives into the second half of its season on Saturday in a dual meet against Kentucky and No. 23 Missouri at the Arkansas Natatorium. The meet will be the first of three home meets for the Razorbacks this spring. The meet will also include a dual between the men’s teams from Kentucky and Missouri, ranked No. 24 and No. 22, respectively.
