It has been two weeks since the Arkansas men’s basketball team last played inside Bud Walton Arena and the Razorbacks are ready to return to their home court. The Razorbacks have played two consecutive games on the road against defending national champion UConn and Oklahoma and now face Southeastern Louisiana on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. Arkansas (5-3) is looking to get the bitter taste of a pair of losses out of its mouth and at the same time preserve its unblemished home court record on Saturday. Shooting has been an issue for the Razorbacks the past two games, but also an area that Arkansas has thrived with at home. Freshman BJ Young has tallied 52 points over the last two games and will need help from the rest of the Razorbacks if Arkansas is to end the skid. Playing at Bud Walton Arena should help the Razorbacks in their pursuit of a victory. The Razorbacks average 84.8 points on their home court and are shooting 48.3 percent from the field, 37.8 percent from three and 71.4 percent from the free throw line. Arkansas is also outrebounding its opponents at home and are forcing nearly 20 turnovers a game as it thrives off the home atmosphere. Southeastern Louisiana (5-3) is a team that Arkansas can not overlook as the Lions feature several good players including a pair of Southeastern Conference transfers in Elgin Bailey (Miss. State) and Daron Populist (LSU). Leading scorer Brandon Fortenberry (17.2 ppg) missed his last game with a foot injury, but the Lions still managed a 65-61 overtime win over Southern. Arkansas and Southeastern Louisiana have met three times over the year with Arkansas holding a perfect 3-0 record in those meetings. The last time the two teams clashed was in 2008-09 when the Razorbacks snuck away with a 91-87 overtime win at Bud Walton Arena. The Arkansas-Southeastern Louisiana game will be broadcast on the radio across the Razorback Sports Network from IMG College with Chuck Barrett and Rick Schaeffer giving the call. The Razorbacks remain at Bud Walton Arena for their next game against Eastern Kentucky on Tuesday, Dec. 20.
