FAYETTEVILLE – The Arkansas Razorbacks continues at home to host ULM on Tuesday for a midweek doubleheader on Tuesday at Bogle Park before making the final Southeastern Conference road trip of the season to Tennessee this weekend.
The Razorbacks are fresh off a 2-1 win over No. 3/4 Georgia on Saturday. The three-game series with the Bulldogs was narrowed to just one game as the rest of the weekend series was canceled due to rainy conditions. The victory for Arkansas marks the second top-25 team that the Razorbacks have defeated this season.
Freshman Chloe Oprzedek went 2-for-2 against the third-ranked Bulldogs with a two RBI double to center field to lift the Razorbacks to the win. Senior Kim Jones went the distance for Arkansas in the circle with six strikeouts and just one run allowed.
The Warhawks are on a three-game losing streak after being swept by Western Kentucky over the weekend. Going into the midweek with a 25-22 record, ULM took a 3-1 loss to Tennessee in early March when the Lady Vols were ranked seventh in the country. The Warhawks are 10-11 in the Sunbelt Conference and Brianna Love leads the team with a .371 batting average overall on the season. With 14 home runs, Love has 36 RBI to her name and looks to be the power hitter for the Warhawks.
Arkansas leads the series 8-2. The Razorbacks have won three of the last four meetings including the most recent doubleheader in 2008 in Sherwood, Ark., when the Hogs swept ULM 3-0 and 6-0.
The first pitch is set for 2 p.m. at Bogle Park with game two following approximately 30 minutes after game one. Check ArkansasRazorbacks.com for more information on Arkansas Softball.
