Razorbacks to compete at All-American

Tulsa, Okla. -The University of Arkansas Razorbacks men’s tennis team will travel to Tulsa, Okla. for the D’Novo ITA All-American Championships at the Michael D. Case Center this Saturday Oct. 3rdthrough Sunday, Oct.11th. Four Razorbacks will join the nation’s top-ranked players to compete in the nine-day tournament.

The season begins this weekend for Senior Dmitry Lebedev and freshmen Mike as they participate in the pre-qualifying singles draw schedule to begin Saturday morning. Lebedev returns after a stellarperformance at the tournament last fall. Lebedev had a remarkable comeback win the first day of competition against Claudio Romano of Central Florida, 5-7, 6-4, 6-1. His winning streak continued with wins over Yale’s Jeff Dawson, 7-6(4), 6-2 and Alex Cornelissen of Orgeon, 6-1, 6-4. His three consecutive wins earned him a spot in the qualifying round of the All-American qualifying tournament last year.

Junior Chris Nott, ranked No. 94 nationally in the preseason ITA rankings will be joined by teammate Matt Hogan to compete in the qualifying round of singles beginning Monday, Oct. 5. Nott will return tothe courts where he battled last season to earn a spot in the All-American qualifying round, beating Miami’s Ignacio Taboada soundly, 6-3, 6-0.

The Razorbacks will have two teams compete in the doubles qualifying segment of the tournament.
