FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas softball team, now with an overall record of 18-13 and a Southeastern Conference record of 2-9, travels to Baton Rouge, La., to take on the Tigers of LSU in a three-game series with the first game on Friday at 6 p.m."LSU is a very tough opponent," said head coach Mike Larabee. "We need to play tough defense this weekend and have some timely hits this to come out with a victory." LSU has an overall record of 24-8 and 7-1 in the SEC for its 2012 campaign, thus far. The Tigers are coming off a midweek game against McNeese State where they grabbed a 4-0 victory. In their SEC campaign, to date, the Tigers have faced South Carolina and Mississippi State in three game series and Auburn in a mid-week double header. LSU swept South Carolina and Mississippi State while splitting with Auburn.The Razorbacks have also faced SEC eastern opponent, South Carolina, and went 1-2 against the Gamecocks in Columbia, S.C.This will be the 54th-56th meeting between the two programs with LSU leading the series 45-8.The games begin Friday at 6 p.m. followed by a 4 p.m. matchup on Saturday and finally the series finale at 1 p.m. on Sunday.There will be a live blog and live stats available at ArkansasRazorbacks.com.
