FAYETTEVILLE – Head coach Mike Larabee and the University of Arkansas softball program begin a month-long camp season Aug. 30 with their All-Skills Elite Showcase. The camp schedule also features a pair of hitting and pitching academies in the month of September. All camps will be held at Bogle Park, the Razorbacks’ home facility. Dates for all camps are listed below. Visit RazorbackSoftballCamps.com for more details.
The All-Skills Elite Showcase Camp is designed for more advanced players who want to showcase their skills and are looking to be challenged by furthering their abilities for the next level. All athletes will need to bring a glove, bat, batting helmet and cleats. Softball pants are recommended.
The pitching academies with assistant coach Randi Davis are for players with previous competitive pitching experience. The focus of these academies will be to establish a solid biomechanical foundation, then work with each player on pitch development and the mental aspect of the game. Those registering for the pitching academy need to provide their own catcher.
The first hitting academy beginning Sept. 8 is designated for ages 8-13 while the second academy is set for ages 14-18. The focus of these academies will be to establish proper mechanics of hitting for power, as well as strike recognition and the mental aspect of hitting.
