@RazorbackTF Men Ranked No. 6 In Initial Outdoor Poll

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas men’s track and field team will begin the outdoor season ranked sixth in the first USTFCCCA national poll of the spring. The Razorbacks will host the Arkansas Spring Invitational this weekend, March 27-28, in their outdoor home opener. The Arkansas Spring Invitational is set to begin Friday evening with the hammer throw competitions. The full schedule of events will be contested Saturday with field events starting at 10 a.m. (CT) and running events starting at 1:30 p.m. The Razorbacks will also host the John McDonnell Invitational (April 10-11) and Arkansas Twilight (May 1) this spring.

The first USTFCCCA poll of the outdoor season is primarily based on preseason data which includes student-athletes’ best marks from the 2014 season. The Razorback men also added points from Kemoy Campbell who was a redshirt last outdoor season. Heading into the spring, Arkansas is fifth in the John McDonnell Program of the Year standings based on its cross country and indoor track and field efforts.

The outdoor postseason begins May 14-16 with the SEC Championships in Starkville, Miss., followed by the NCAA West Preliminary on May 27-30 in Austin. National qualifiers will then compete at the NCAA Outdoor Championships on June 10-13 in Eugene, Ore.
