FAYETTEVILLE — The University of Arkansas women’s basketball team joins programs across the nation in Play 4 Kay initiatives this week when they host Alabama Thursday at 7 p.m. in Bud Walton Arena. The Razorbacks will be sporting pink uniforms and shoes as they support the efforts to raise awareness about breast cancer and remember a legend in the women’s basketball world in Kay Yow. As part of the event, the first 500 fans will receive a free pink t-shirt at Thursday’s game. Some of the proceeds from the game will be donated to the Play 4 Kay organization and fans are encouraged to participate as well. Fans can log on to Play4Kay.org and make a donation on behalf of the Arkansas Razorbacks by selecting “Donate to Team” in the upper left corner of the website. Since its inception in 2007, the Play 4Kay initiative has raised over $2.8 million to support women’s cancer research. This year, women’s college basketball celebrates the Play 4 Kay initiative from Feb. 7-17, culminating with ESPN’s Play 4 Kay coverage on Feb. 16-17.
