BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — More than 24 hours after the scheduled start time, the fourth-ranked University of Arkansas women’s golf team has completed the first round of the 2014 SEC Championship and is in the clubhouse with the lead. Sophomore Regina Plasencia leads Arkansas and is tied for third overall helping the Razorbacks to a rain-filled 294 in round one. Play was delayed more than four hours Friday when heavy rains interrupted play. Arkansas got on the course only to be pulled off as darkness fell, so the Razorbacks, Alabama and South Carolina had to finish their first round Saturday morning. Plasencia, who returned to the course on the 16th hole, finished with an even par 72 on the Founder’s Course at Greystone Golf and Country Club. Teammates sophomore Gabriela Lopez and senior Emily Tubert both finished one-over with 73 and are tied for sixth. Senior Emma Lavy shot 76 and is tied for 30th and freshman Summar Roachell carded a 79 and is in the clubhouse tied for 45th in her first SEC Championship.
