FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – To cap its second week of preseason camp, the University of Arkansas volleyball team will host its annual Red-White scrimmage this Saturday, Aug. 20 at 1 p.m. The event is free and open to the public with doors at Barnhill Arena opening at noon. Following the scrimmage, the Razorbacks will hold a clinic for children in eighth grade and under.

Under the direction of new head coach Jason Watson, the Razorbacks return 11 student-athletes from last year’s team and welcome three newcomers to the 2016 roster. The team will be led by its seven-member senior class of Barbara Dapic, Danielle Harbin, Breana Jones, Ana Sofia Jusino, Pilar Victoria, Savannah Voelzke and Adrien Wohlschlaeger. Arkansas’ underclass group features libero Okiana Valle, last year’s AVCA South Region Freshman of the Year.
Arkansas opens its season Aug. 26-27 at the Illini Classic in Champaign, Illinois, where the team is set to host and preseason No. 14 Illinois, Missouri State and Xavier. The Razorbacks’ home opener is set for Sept. 16-17 with the Arkansas Invitational. The team’s schedule is highlighted by six teams ranked in the AVCA Preseason Top 25 and seven top-25 RPI opponents with 11 matches against nine teams that advanced to last year’s NCAA Tournament.
