FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – As part of this weekend’s Fan Day festivities, fans can get their first look at Arkansas volleyball when the team hosts its annual Red-White scrimmage Aug. 16 at 3 p.m. (CT) at Barnhill Arena. The event is free and open to the public. Following the preseason exhibition, the team will host a meet and greet with season-ticket holders. Sunday’s scrimmage caps the Razorbacks’ first week of preseason camp.
Beginning at $40 and a free team knit hat with each purchase, season tickets are available through the Razorback Ticket Center by calling 800-982-4647 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Arkansas open its season Aug. 28 against McNeese State with first serve scheduled for 7 p.m. at Barnhill Arena. It will serve as the team’s first match of the season-opening Arkansas Invitational that also includes Army and Kansas.
Under the direction of eighth-year head coach Robert Pulliza, the Razorbacks return 12 student-athletes from last year’s team and welcome five newcomers to the 2015 roster. Returning All-SEC performer Chanell Clark-Bibbs is part of the team’s three-member senior class along with Monica Bollinger and Liz Fortado.
Arkansas’ schedule features 15 home matches at Barnhill Arena, including nine versus SEC teams. Overall, the Razorbacks are set to play 13 matches against teams that played in last year’s NCAA Tournament and nine matches against top-50 RPI teams. The Razorbacks have benefited from a home-court advantage with its fans turning out in record numbers. Nine of the top 10 home crowds have come over the past five seasons.
