Remainder of softball tournament called off

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Games scheduled for Sunday at the Holiday Inn-NWA Razorback Invitational have been cancelled with cold temperatures expected all day and uncertain field conditions at Bogle Park. Weather issues came into play beginning Friday night which also resulted in yesterday’s games being cancelled.The game scheduled to resume Sunday morning between Arkansas and Ball State has been called as well. The two teams began the game Friday night when rain forced the umpires to suspend the game in the top of the sixth inning. The contest does become official which give the Razorbacks a 1-0 victory. Freshman Tori Mort scored the game’s only run with an inside-the-park home run and Kim Jones improves to 2-2 in the circle.Arkansas (9-7) defeated Bradley, 10-5, in its Bogle Park opener Friday afternoon. Kayla Johnson and Brittany Robison anchored the Razorback offense with a two-run home run and grand slam, respectively. Miranda Dixon picked up her fifth victory of the season.The Razorbacks return to competition March 6-8 with the Oklahoma State Mizuno Classic in Stillwater, Okla.
