Rippee Posts Double-Double in Home Opener

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Freshman setter Rachel Rippee tallied her third double-double effort of the season while senior Savannah Voelzke picked up a career-high 17 digs in a four-set loss to Southern Miss Friday afternoon in the team’s home opener. The Razorbacks close out day one of the Arkansas Invitational against No. 25 Kansas State at 7 p.m.

Senior co-captain Danielle Harbin paced the Razorbacks’ offense with 17 kills and tied her career high with seven digs. She had reached double digits in five of the past six matches including a career-high 22 kills in a five setter against No. 4 Kansas. Rippee finished the match with 37 assists and 11 digs. In addition to her digs total, Voelzke added nine kills and a career-best five blocks.

As part of Friday’s fan promotions against Kansas State, one UA student will win an Apple Watch and the first 25 students in attendance will get a free team knit hat. All fans can also take advantage of a 2-for-1 special with a ticket for the 12 p.m. match against Southern Miss being good for complimentary admission into the 7 p.m. match against K-State.
