RIDGELAND, Miss. — In the final stop of its week-long road trip, the University of Arkansas softball team travels to Jackson State for a Tuesday doubleheader. First pitch of the twin bill is scheduled for 4 p.m. (CT) at the JSU Softball Complex. The Razorbacks enter the midweek games with a 22-10 overall record. Tuesday’s doubleheader represents the second meeting of the season between Arkansas and Jackson State. The two teams previously met Feb. 13 during the Arkansas Invitational, an 8-0 win for the Razorbacks in five innings. Devon Wallace and Jayme Gee both homered against the Lady Tigers while Wallace, Chloe Oprzedek and Parker Pocklington each had two hits. Arkansas owns a 5-0 advantage in the all-time series between the two programs. Jackson State has won seven straight and carries a 12-22 overall record. The Razorbacks are coming off a 15-7 win over Ole Miss in the finale of a weekend series in Oxford. Arkansas’ run total was its highest in a Southeastern Conference game since scoring 18 against Mississippi State during the 2010 season. Wallace (2-for-3, grand slam) and Amanda Geile (2-for-4, double) combined for seven RBI in Sunday’s game with Kasey Fagan earning her fifth win of the season in the circle. Arkansas is the second-highest scoring team in the NCAA at 8.13 runs per game. Through the team’s first 32 games of the season, Clarisa Navarro continues to lead the team with her .364 batting average. Wallace has a team-high nine home runs and Fagan is the top run producer with 31 RBI and 36 runs scored. With 35 hits, Stephanie Canfield leads a quartet of Razorback hitters with 30 or more hits. The Razorbacks are 2-2 on its current road trip which began last Wednesday in Sherwood, Ark. Following Tuesday’s doubleheader at Jackson State, the team returns to Fayetteville to host Texas A&M for an SEC series at Bogle Park.
