COLUMBIA, S.C. — In the miple of a stretch that features three matches in five days, the University of Arkansas volleyball team travels to Columbia, S.C., for a Friday matchup with the Gamecocks. First serve of the weekend opener is scheduled for 6 p.m. (CT) at South Carolina’s Volleyball Competition Facility. The Razorbacks enter the weekend with a 9-5 overall record and a 2-1 mark in Southeastern Conference play. Both matches this weekend–Arkansas hosts Auburn on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in Fayetteville–will be broadcast on KXUA 88.3 FM in Fayetteville. The match will be the 31st meeting between the two programs with Arkansas holding the 20-10 advantage in the all-time series, and having won six of the last seven. The Razorbacks have won nine of the 14 matches played in Columbia. In the team’s last outing, Arkansas lost a four-set match to Missouri in Fayetteville. The Razorbacks were paced by a pair of double-double performances by junior Meredith Hays with 19 kills and 14 digs and senior Raymariely Santos with 29 assists and 12 digs. Defensively, senior libero Emily Helm also tallied 14 digs while sophomore Summer Morgan led the efforts at the net with six total blocks. Wednesday’s match against Mizzou was televised on ESPNU and was played in front of 1,672 fans at Barnhill Arena, the second-largest home crowd in program history.
