Ron Faurot Honorary Captain for Kentucky-Arkansas Game

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas is proud to announce former Razorback Ron Faurot as the Old Spice honorary captain for the Kentucky-Arkansas football game on Saturday, September 22, 2007 at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium. The University of Arkansas Men’s Athletic Department will present an honorary captain for each Fayetteville home game this season. Each honorary captain will be honored prior to the game on the field, recognized on the SmartVision and will accompany the Razorback captains to midfield for the coin toss. The honorary captain will also appear at the Legends Tent presented by Old Spice and Spectrum Brands in the AT&T Trough approximately 90 minutes before game time.Faurot lettered at the University of Arkansas from 1980 to 1983. An All-Southwest Conference selection and All American at defensive end, Faurot was a captain of the 1983 squad. During the 1983 campaign, he led the Razorbacks in sacks with 7 and tackles with 61. Ten of the tackles were for loss yardage.Ron was also selected to play in the 1984 Hula Bowl.Faurot was a first round pick of the New York Jets in 1984, the 15th overall pick in the draft.
