Named 2013 ACBA/Rawlings National High School Player of the Year and First Team All-American after hitting .564 with 12 home runs, 57 RBI and 38 stolen bases … Earned Second Team All-America honors from Baseball America and MaxPreps … Selected as the Gatorade Ohio Baseball Player of the Year following his senior season … Twice named the Division III Player of the Year by the Cincinnati Enquirer … Earned All-State honors three times in his high school career and was a four-time First Team All-Cincinnati Hills League honoree … Holds the Ohio high school career record with 199 career runs scored, ranks second with 213 career hits, fifth with 166 career RBI, eighth with a .542 career batting average and 12th with 112 career stolen bases … Also played basketball in high school, averaging 25.5 points per game in his senior season to earn Division III Co-Player of the Year from the Cincinnati Enquirer.
