Made first start of the season Oct. 20 against Georgia…had six kills and two total blocks against the Bulldogs…notched nine kills against Missouri…no attack errors in 13 swings against the Tigers, good for a .692 hitting percentage…followed with seven kills and a .333 hitting percentage in five-set win at South Carolina…tallied 250th career kill during four-setter against No. 2 Florida…tallied back-to-back season highs with 11 kills against Texas A&M and LSU…season-high three total blocks at LSU.
2012 | Freshman

Prior to Arkansas
As a senior at Marcus High School, Fortado helped lead the Marauders to the regional finals of the 2011 Texas State Tournament. She was ranked No. 75 in the 2012 Senior Aces class by PrepVolleyball.com and held spots on the Under Armour Player to Watch list and AVCA All-America Watch List. During her prep career, she was a three-time all-district performer, named to the All-State team and was the Offensive Player of the Year for Marcus in 2010. Fortado plays club for Texas Advantage, which also produced former Razorbacks Amanda Anderson, Jasmine Norton and Clarissa Pavey. During the summer before her freshman season at Arkansas, Fortado was named to the 18 Open Division All-Tournament Team at the 2012 USAV Girls’ Junior National Championships. She was also named the MVP of the Texas Girls Coaches Association All-Star Game.
Born March 14, 1994, she is one of three children to Scott and Laura Fortado of Flower Mound, Texas. Liz has two brothers, Michael and Matthew, and plans to major in business while at Arkansas.
