2014 | Junior

Made season debut Oct. 5 at LSU…tallied 15 or more kills in three matches including career-high 19 kills against South Carolina (Nov. 14)…reset career best earlier in the season with 17-kill performance against Georgia (Oct. 12)…posted 15 kills at Tennessee (Nov. 26)…hit .351 or better in all three instances of 15+ kills…seven matches with three or more total blocks including season-high five blocks at Alabama (Oct. 26)…had career high with five digs versus LSU (Nov. 2)…started 10 matches during junior campaign.

2013 | Sophomore

Made first start of the season Oct. 20 against Georgia…had six kills and two total blocks against the Bulldogs…notched nine kills against Missouri…no attack errors in 13 swings against the Tigers, good for a .692 hitting percentage…followed with seven kills and a .333 hitting percentage in five-set win at South Carolina…tallied 250th career kill during four-setter against No. 2 Florida…tallied back-to-back season highs with 11 kills against Texas A&M and LSU…season-high three total blocks at LSU.

2012 | Freshman

SEC All-Freshman Team…named to the all-tournament team at the Razorback Invitational…had a 12 kills in three-set win over ULM…tallied 10 kills at No. 22 Michigan…21 matches with six or more kills…hit .700 (7-0-10) against Central Michigan…in first two matches of the season, had consecutive five-block efforts…began her SEC career with 11 kills on season-high 31 attempts against No. 13 Florida…tied then-career high with five total blocks at No. 21 Tennessee…capped road weekend with eight kills on a .385 hitting percentage against Georgia…established career high with six total blocks in three-set win over Auburn…hit .312 with eight kills at No. 11 Florida…registered seven kills with no attack errors in sweep at Kentucky…first career service ace set up match point against the Wildcats…tallied a match-high 11 kills with a .444 hitting percentage in weekend-finale win at Mississippi State…followed with another 11-kill performance and .556 hitting percentage in five-set win over Alabama…had seven kills and two total blocks in road match at Texas A&M…registered nine kills and two total blocks in five-set win over Kentucky in Fayetteville…committed no attack errors for a .391 hitting percentage against the Wildcats…closed the regular season with a career-high 13 kills with a .308 hitting percentage at South Carolina…also had four digs and four total blocks against the Gamecocks…wrapped freshman campaign with 10 kills and three total blocks against Wichita State in the NCAA Tournament.

Prior to Arkansas

As a senior at Marcus High School, Fortado helped lead the Marauders to the regional finals of the 2011 Texas State Tournament. She was ranked No. 75 in the 2012 Senior Aces class by PrepVolleyball.com and held spots on the Under Armour Player to Watch list and AVCA All-America Watch List. During her prep career, she was a three-time all-district performer, named to the All-State team and was the Offensive Player of the Year for Marcus in 2010. Fortado plays club for Texas Advantage, which also produced former Razorbacks Amanda Anderson, Jasmine Norton and Clarissa Pavey. During the summer before her freshman season at Arkansas, Fortado was named to the 18 Open Division All-Tournament Team at the 2012 USAV Girls’ Junior National Championships. She was also named the MVP of the Texas Girls Coaches Association All-Star Game.

Personal

Born March 14, 1994, she is one of three children to Scott and Laura Fortado of Flower Mound, Texas. Liz has two brothers, Michael and Matthew, and plans to major in business while at Arkansas.
