What do you love most about gymnastics? There’s always something more to learn no matter what level you are at. You can always improve your technique or learn new things because there’s such a variety of skills in this sport.

What keeps you motivated in and out of the gym? My faith and the goals I have set for myself are what keep me motivated every day.

Why did you choose to come to Arkansas? Because I wanted to follow in the footsteps of my cousins, Denise and Gina Bargiacchi, who were both Razorback athletes when I was in elementary and middle school. I used to come to Fayetteville to watch Denise run and Gina swim and I remember thinking that I wanted to follow them and represent the Razorbacks in my sport.

What’s the best thing about being a Gymback? Having 12 other girls to train with every day and support each other throughout all of our good days and our hard days. We are blessed to be a part of a team where all of the girls are close and can depend on each other.

What’s the team’s goal this season? I believe the Gymbacks are capable of having their best season yet. We’ve set a team goal of qualifying for Super Six and placing in the top four for a program record.

What’s your favorite event? Beam.

Who had the biggest influence in your athletics or in your life? My club coaches, Melissa Smith and Matt Pettinger. I spent the seven years before college training under them and I believe they’re the reason why I was able to achieve my goals in the sport.

Who’s your favorite athlete? It has been Kerri Strug since I wrote a report on her in elementary school. I always admired her dedication in the 1996 Olympics that led the USA to their first team gold medal despite her injury.

What’s your favorite healthy food? All fruit.

What’s your favorite unhealthy food? Brownies.

What’s your favorite movie? Miracle.

What’s your favorite TV show? Grey’s Anatomy.

What are your plans after graduation? I plan to become a pediatric nurse.

Can you play any instruments or have any other hidden talents? I could play the piano when I was younger. My hidden talent is that I can say the alphabet backwards.

What’s the best advice you have ever received? Never give up on something you really want. You may be going through hard times so that you can learn just how strong you are and to make yourself a better person.
