Samuels Added to the 60 Meters for NCAA Indoor Championships

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas sprinter J-Mee Samuels has been added to the 60-meter dash for the NCAA Championships, it was announced by the NCAA on Tuesday. Samuels’ addition is the 11th entry for the Razorbacks for this season’s championship.

Samuels, an All-American in the 100 meters, will now be competing in both the 60 meters and the 200 meters at the NCAA Championships, held this weekend at the Randal Tyson Track Center. In the national rankings, he sits at 18th in the 60 meters (6.69) and 11th in the 200 meters (21.04).

John McDonnell’s Hogs are in the hunt for their 43rd NCAA title and 20th indoors. Arkansas will be represented by Samuels (60 meters, 200 meters), Micky Cobrin, Andy McClary (mile), Chris Barnicle, Tyler Hill, James Strang (5,000 meters), the distance medley relay (Daniel LaCava, Chris Bilbrew, Andy McClary and Cobrin), Nkosinza Balumbu, Daniel Quinn (triple jump) and Alain Bailey (long jump) at this year NCAA Indoor Championships.

Barnicle, Cobrin, Hill, Andy McClary, Quinn, Samuels and Strang will be making their NCAA Indoor Championship debuts this weekend. Balumbu is a five-time NCAA qualifier while Bailey competed in the 2007 NCAA Indoor Championships.
