FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas sophomore pitcher Nolan Sanburn has been named to the watch list for the NCBWA Stopper of the Year Award, as announced on Tuesday afternoon. Sanburn, who was named to the midseason watch list for the NCBWA Stopper of the Year Award last season, is one of 45 pitchers to be on the watch list. A native of Kokomo, Ind., Sanburn led the Razorbacks with eight saves last season, which ranked sixth in the Southeastern Conference. A Collegiate Baseball freshman All-America in 2011, Sanburn finished his rookie season with a 2-4 record and a 3.62 ERA. Sanburn struck out 35 batters in 32.1 innings and held opposing hitters to a .239 batting average. The initial list for the award will be updated with a mid-season release the week of April 16. At the conclusion of the regular season, the Division I national saves leader and four other relief pitching standouts will be selected as finalists. The list of finalists will be released on Wednesday, June 6. The winner of the award will be announced during the 2012 College World Series.
