FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Former senior team captain Kenny Sandlin will return to Donald W. Reynolds Stadium to serve as the A Club Honorary Captain for Saturday’s game between the Razorbacks and the Northern Illinois Huskies.
Sandlin, a center/offensive guard, lettered for the Razorbacks from 1998-2001 and led Arkansas to 30 wins, including a share of the 1998 SEC Western Division Championship. The Van Buren, Arkansas, native assisted the Razorbacks in the 2000 Cotton Bowl win against Texas.
In 2001, he earned All-Southeastern Conference second team honors by the Associated Press and received the Nelson Rainey Award for character.
Following his collegiate career, Sandlin signed professional contracts with the Carolina Panthers in 2002 and the Minnesota Vikings in 2003.
The A Club honorary captain is recognized before each home game for their outstanding accomplishments on the field during their Razorback career. Before kickoff, they will be recognized and will accompany the captains to midfield for the coin toss.
The Razorbacks will host Northern Illinois on Saturday, Sept. 20 at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m. and the game will be televised on ESNPU.
