Schrader Runs with Team USA at World XC Championships

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Freshman Kelsey Schrader ran to a 66th-place performance this weekend at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships in Guiyang, China. Representing Team USA at the international competition, she clocked a time of 23.06 to help her country to an eighth-place finish in the junior event. Schrader finished fifth within the United States’ lineup.
The Dekalb, Ill., native earned a spot on the world team with a fifth-place showing at the US Junior Cross Country Team Trials in February. During Arkansas’ cross country season, Schrader was a member of the All-SEC Freshman Team with her 19th-place finish at the conference meet. She competed in seven of the Razorbacks’ eight competitions and posted six top-15 individual finishes.

The Razorback women opened their outdoor track and field season this week with four titles at the 88th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays and a win at the home-opening Arkansas Spring Invitational. Arkansas returns to competition April 3-4 with the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif.
