Schrage Shines At USATF Juniors

CLOVIS, Calif. – Future Razorback Harrison Schrage jumped into Team USA’s lineup for the 2016 IAAF U20 World Championship with a runner-up finish in the long jump at the 2016 USATF Junior Championship at Veteran’s Memorial Stadium in Clovis.

Recently named the Gatorade Track and Field Athlete of the Year for the state of Oregon, Schrage marked his best jump on his fifth attempt – a new personal best of 7.70m/25-3 1/4. He is a four-time Oregon state champion in the long jump and added to his accolades with gold at the state meet in the triple jump this year.

Schrage will travel to Bydgoszcz, Poland, on July 19-24 to represent the U.S. against international competition.

Other Notable Performances
An indoor All-American in the 800-meter run this year, freshman Carlton Orange was one of the three best performers in the event at the USATF Junior meet placing third in 1 minute, 47.87. Orange was just .69 seconds from a World U20 Championship berth crossing the finish line behind competitor Brian Bell who snagged the silver in 1:47.18.
