Scott-Efurd Earns Third SEC Weekly Honor

SEC Release

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Arkansas senior Dominique Scott-Efurd has been selected as the Southeastern Conference Runner of the Week for the third time this season following an impressive performance in the 10,000-meter run at the Payton Jordan Invitational on Sunday, May 1.

The Capetown, South Africa, native was one of 23 runners to post the Olympic qualifying standard (32 minutes, 15 seconds) in the highly competitive section one of the 10K running to a new personal best and program record of 31:56.84.

Her new lifetime best earned her a spot in NCAA history as the seventh-best 10K performer of all time — one of only six collegians to ever run under 32 minutes.

Scott-Efurd’s performance propelled the 2014-15 SEC Triple Crown Runner of the Year to the top spot in the NCAA — currently ahead of the No. 2 best by a 12 second margin. She now leads collegiate competition in both the 5K and 10K as the Razorbacks prepare for the upcoming championship season.
