Season Opener Against Huskers

LINCOLN, Neb.-The University of Arkansas swimming and diving team officially open their 2015-16 season on Saturday, Oct. 2 at 11 a.m. against the University of Nebraska at the Devaney Natatorium.

Leading the Razorbacks, seniors Anna Mayfield, Maddie Monroe, Nina Drolc, and Rachel Stoehr, all of which qualified for the 2015 NCAA Championships.

Arkansas and Nebraska have met 13 times, beginning in the 1983-94 season. Arkansas is 6-6 all-time against Nebraska. Fourteen event wins and a pool record, the Razorbacks beat Nebraska last season at a dual meet in Lincoln, 190-106.

The 200 medley relay topped the Devaney Natatorium’s previous pool record last season from 1:43.03 to a 1:42.90. The relay included two returners, Mayfield and Drolc. Stoehr and Chloe Hannam each captured two event wins at last years dual meet. Mayfield, Monroe, and Tatlow each captured one individual event win.

Diver Nicole Gillis took first in the three-meter springboards with a score of 319.20 and took third on the one-meter boards with a score of 253.35.

UP NEXT

Following Saturdays meet, the Razorbacks will be back in action Friday, Oct. 10 at 11 a.m. at the Arkansas Natatorium against Kentucky.
