FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas volleyball team is set to make three television appearances this season as announced Tuesday by the Southeastern Conference, in conjunction with ESPNU, SportSouth (SPSO), Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast (CSS) and Cox Sports Television (CST). The Razorbacks will be featured in three of the combined 16 live SEC volleyball matches.
In addition to an earlier release of Arkansas’ match against LSU on ESPNU, the Razorbacks are now scheduled for an Oct. 2 matchup against Tennessee on SportSouth and a Nov. 13 match against Florida on CSS/CST. Arkansas’ match against the Lady Vols and Gators are both scheduled for 1 p.m. (CT) starts. All three of the Razorbacks’ television matches will be aired live from Barnhill Arena.
Last week, ESPNU announced its Wednesday Night Women’s Volleyball schedule which includes the Arkansas-LSU midweek showdown. First serve of the match is scheduled for 7 p.m. on the Razorbacks’ home court. The two teams met in an ESPNU televised match last season in Baton Rouge.
ESPNU reaches over 73 million homes, FOX Sport South reached 25 million and CSS/CST reaches 10 million homes. Areas that are covered by Comcast will see the matches on CSS, while areas covered by Cox (Arkansas, Florida and LSU) will see the matches on CST.
Arkansas begins its 2011 season Aug. 26-27 with its home tournament and a field that includes Colorado State, Middle Tennessee and McNeese State; Colorado State and Middle Tennessee advanced to the NCAA Tournament last year. The Razorbacks’ home schedule features 14 dates, including 10 SEC matchups. Arkansas will also host Oral Roberts in a non-conference match.
