FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas volleyball team will make three television appearances in 2013 as part of the SEC television package released Wednesday in conjunction with ESPNU, SportSouth (SPSO) and Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast (CSS). The Razorbacks and Barnhill Arena will play host to two of the three television dates, including an Oct. 2 national appearance on ESPNU.
The conference’s first match of the ESPNU Wednesday Night Volleyball schedule on Oct. 2 will originate from Fayetteville with the Razorbacks hosting Missouri at 6 p.m. (CT). The match will be the lead-in for the network’s weekly doubleheader. Arkansas’ second home televised match is scheduled for Oct. 20 when the team plays Georgia with first serve set for 1:30 p.m.
The two home dates will be split by a television appearance Oct. 13 on the road against Tennessee. The inter-division matchup will be played at Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville, Tenn., with first serve at noon.
Among all teams in the conference, the networks will broadcast 18 live SEC volleyball matches this season. Every ESPNU match will be available on WatchESPN, while SportSouth and CSS matches will also be made available on ESPN3.
Arkansas will play its annual Red-White scrimmage Aug. 18 at 4 p.m. which will be followed by a fan event for season-ticket holders. The team opens its season Aug. 30-31 with the Arkansas Invitational at Barnhill Arena. The Razorbacks have 16 home matches on their 2013 schedule and will play nine teams that advanced to last year’s NCAA Tournament.
