University of Arkansas head men’s basketball coach John Pelphrey and senior forward Delvon Johnson traveled to Birmingham, Ala., on Thursday to participate in the Southeastern Conference’s annual basketball media day.
Arkansas’ contingent arrived at the Wynfrey hotel around 9:20 a.m., and immediately got to work as they visited with members of the media about the upcoming season. The Razorbacks began their day with the television networks including ESPN, Fox Sports, Comcast Sports and the SEC Network. After an hour of television spots, Pelphrey and Johnson went to the large media room where members of the print media had one hour to visit with them. The Razorbaks’ day concluded with a visit with radio before returning back to Fayetteville.
Arkansas continues to practice as it prepares for the 2010-11 season opener in early November, but prior to that is the annual Red-White scrimmage at Bud Walton Arena on Friday night. Doors open for the Red-White games at 6:30 p.m.
