SEC Volleyball TV schedule announced

FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas volleyball team will make two television appearances as part of the 2010 Southeastern Conference volleyball television schedule. The SEC, in conjunction with ESPNU, FOX Sports Net (FSN), Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast (CSS) and Cox Sports Television (CST), released the slate of television matches.

The Razorbacks make their 2010 television debut Oct. 13 in Baton Rouge, La., against defending SEC champion LSU. The Western Division matchup will be televised by ESPNU with first serve scheduled for 8 p.m. (CT) from the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. Entering the 2010 season, Arkansas holds a 22-12 advantage in the all-time series with LSU.

CSS will televise Arkansas’ Nov. 14 meeting with Tennessee at Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville, Tenn. The match between the Razorbacks and Lady Volunteers is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start. Arkansas leads the all-time series with Tennessee, 14-12. The Razorbacks took both LSU and Tennessee to five games last season on their home floor at Barnhill Arena.

Combined, the networks affiliated with the conference’s television package will broadcast 17 live SEC volleyball matches during the 2010 season. ESPNU reaches over 73 million homes nationwide, while FSN reaches 25 million and CSS/CST is carried in 10 million homes.

The Razorbacks open their season Aug. 27 under Robert Pulliza, entering his third season as Arkansas’ head coach. In the season opener, Arkansas will face Missouri-Kansas City at 7 p.m. on day one of the Arkansas Invitational at Barnhill Arena. The two-day event also features Grambling State and Samford. The Razorbacks will play 14 matches on their home court this season.
