FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas women’s tennis head coach Michael Hegarty announced the program’s 2016 fall schedule Wednesday.

“We are looking forward to a challenging fall campaign,” Hegarty said. “The SEC is extremely deep as usual this year so our fall is designed to test us as best as possible.”

Arkansas will go in different directions during its first weekend of competition. Multiple Razorbacks will compete at either the Little Rock Classic in Little Rock, or the Colorado Invitational in Boulder, Colorado. Both tournaments are slated for Sept. 23-25.

The Riviera/ITA All-American Championships are scheduled for Oct. 1-9 at the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, California. Individual selections for the nationally renowned tournament will be announced at a later date.

Select Razorbacks will travel to Fort Myers, Florida, for the FGCU Classic on Oct. 7-9.

Arkansas will then compete in the ITA Central Regional Championships on Oct. 13-17 in Minneapolis. The regional singles and doubles champions will earn spots to the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships on Nov. 3-6 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, New York.

Coach Hegarty’s squad will also participate in the Missouri State Invitational on Oct. 28-29 in Springfield, Missouri, and the Brown Classic on Nov. 4-6 in Providence, Rhode Island.

The Razorbacks return eight players from a squad that captured the program’s 14th NCAA Team Championship bid last spring and finished the season 16-14 overall. The Razorbacks’ season featured victories over seven teams in the final ITA national rankings, including No. 30 Wichita State, No. 12 Auburn and No. 19 Texas A&M.
