OAKMONT,Pa.– University of Arkansas senior-to-be Kelli Shean continued her U.S. Women’s Open appearance with a third round 83 Saturday.
Shean, a Cape Town, South Africa, native, made the cut yesterday as one of the low 60 players in the field. Shean was the field leader for much of the first day and finished tied for second after play on Thursday.
She is in the clubhouse with a 232 (70-79-83) after her third round. Shean hit seven fairways today and six greens in regulation. She has had 32 pars and four birdies over three days.
Play continues through Sunday.
In addition to Shean, former Razorbacks Stacy Lewis and Lucy Nunn also played in the U.S. Women’s Open this year. Nunn did not make the cut and Lewis was tied for 11th with six holes remaining in her third round.
