FAYETTEVILLE – The 22nd-ranked University of Arkansas women’s golf team tees it up for their second spring event at the Florida SunTrust Women’s Golf Invitational in Gainesville, Fla., Sunday and Monday.
The Razorbacks, paced by senior Kelli Shean and freshman Emily Tubert, take on a talented field and a tough golf course in the Mark Bostick Golf Course at the University of Florida.
"We didn’t get out of the blocks like we would have liked," said Shauna Estes-Taylor. "But we have had some good prep time and we are ready to get back out there. This is another strong field and in two years, the SEC Championship will be at this golf course. It’s a course that takes strategy and creativity and I think it sets up well for us."
The Razorbacks return to the final line up from the fall taking Shean and Tubert along with Victoria Vela, Corinna Rees and Emma Lavy to Gainesville. The team plays 36 holes on Sunday on the par 70, 6,074-yard course and finishes with 18 in the final round Monday.
This year’s field includes the Razorbacks and host and 34th-ranked Gators along No. 53 Augusta State, No. 46 Coastal Carolina, No. 29 Colorado, No. 38 Florida State, No. 69 Georgia State, No. 11 Iowa State, No. 93 James Madison, No. 28 Kent State, No. 109 Missouri, No. 30 Ohio State, No. 101 Stetson, No. 73 Texas Tech, No. 79 UCF, 141 UNC-Greensboro and No. 35 UT-Chattanooga.
