Sheehan accepts position with Cleveland Browns

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Coordinator of Athletic Training and Sports Medicine Joe Sheehan has accepted an offer to return to the National Football League as the head athletic trainer for the Cleveland Browns. Sheehan came to Arkansas last July and helped develop the Razorbacks’ new combined athletic training program servicing 19 sports and more than 460 student-athletes.

Prior to Sheehan’s arrival at Arkansas, he spent 11 years with the Jacksonville Jaguars including three years as an assistant athletic trainer and the director of rehabilitation.

"We are disappointed that Joe has decided to leave our program, but understand his reasons to pursue a head athletic training position in the National Football League," Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Jeff Long said. "Joe has done a fine job leading the transition of our combined athletic training and sports medicine program. I am grateful for his leadership and appreciate his work with the Razorback program."
