Singleton joins basketball staff as graduate assistant

FAYETTEVILLE – One of the great stories of the 2004-05 women’s basketball season hasn’t come to a close after all as former Lady Razorback guard Allison Singleton returns as a graduate assistant for the University of Arkansas next season. The former Lady’Back basketball manager given the opportunity to play her senior year at Arkansas by head coach Susie Gardner replaces departing graduate assistant Alli Clark. “Allison has been a big part of this program for a long time, and I couldn’t be happier to see her stay a part of the program as our graduate assistant,” Gardner said. Graduating this year from the University, Singleton played a single season for the Lady’Backs after three years as the team’s manager. She played in a handful of games as a senior, but she was chosen to receive one of the highest team honors at last month’s basketball banquet, the Miss Lady Razorback Award. The award is given each year to the player that most embodied the spirit of what it means to be a Lady’Back basketball player. A graduate of Fort Smith Southside, the 5-5 guard was a three-sport athlete in high school as well as an honors graduate.
