Siow honored again by SEC

FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas senior Yi-Ting Siow was named Southeastern Conference swimmer of the week Tuesday after automatically qualifying for the NCAA Championships Sunday at the Purdue Invitational in West Lafayette, Ind.

She also earned NCAA "B" cuts in the 200y IM, 400y IM and the 100y breaststroke over the weekend.

Siow touched in at 2:09.01 in the 200y breaststroke to earn her second event win of the invitational and the NCAA "A" cut time. Siow’s time represents the fastest in the NCAA this season by almost two-and-a-half seconds.

She also picked up a victory in the 400y individual medley event on Saturday. Siow’s time of 4:13.61 represents the second fastest time in the country and the fastest in the SEC.

Siow was also a member of the 400y medley relay team that swam a NCAA "B" cut time of 3:42.69 to break the previous Arkansas school record of 3:43.65 set last season at the SEC Championships.

This is the third SEC swimmer of the week honor for Siow this season.
