Six #ProHogs Roll Into NFL Divisional Weekend

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The NFL Playoffs continue this weekend with four divisional round matchups and a chance at a conference championship. Those eight teams will be looking to move one step closer to a Super Bowl and six former Razorbacks will hope to help their teams make that step.

Throughout this NFL season, 20 former Razorbacks donned NFL uniforms and made up active rosters at some point during the year. That number has whittled down to six that are still in action with two rounds of games remaining until the Super Bowl.

Collins and Hamilton Help Seahawks and Steelers Through Wild Card Weekend
With both former Razorbacks experiencing their first playoffs of their young careers, running back Alex Collins and wide receiver Cobi Hamilton found themselves on the winning side of Wild Card Weekend last week as Seattle and Pittsburgh each cruised into the Divisional Round. Seattle routed the Detroit Lions, 26-6, while the Steelers dominated the Miami Dolphins, 30-12.

Collins has been part of a three-man running back rotation in Seattle all season and had the second-most carries (6) last week, while gaining 13 yards. He also caught one pass for 11 yards. For the year, the rookie has 37 carries for 138 yards and one touchdown, as well as 95 receiving yards.

Hamilton caught his only target against the Dolphins last week for 10 yards, but has become one of Pittsburgh’s deep threats down the stretch. This year is Hamilton’s first full active season with an NFL team after being drafted in 2013 and has made the most of his time with 18 catches for 244 yards and two touchdowns.

Seattle travels to Atlanta for this week’s matchup with kickoff scheduled for 3:35 p.m. Saturday on FOX. Pittsburgh faces off with AFC two-seed Kansas City at 7:20 p.m. Sunday on NBC.

Flowers Take Strong Second Half Into Playoffs
One player that has turned the most heads over the latter half of the regular season is defensive end Trey Flowers. Playing in his second full season with the Patriots, Flowers didn’t get substantial playing time until Week 8 against the Bills when he turned in one of his best performances of the year with five tackles and two sacks. Since then, Flowers has gone on to lead the Patriots in sacks (7.0) and started in each game between Weeks 10 and 17. Overall, Flowers has 45 tackles this season and he is one of 25 defensive players with 40 or more tackles and 7.0 or more sacks.

Hunter Henry Ends Rookie Season Among NFL Leaders
During his first NFL training camp, Hunter Henry described the experience as being the “new kid in school again”.  Fast-forward seven months and the tight end found himself on Monday cleaning out his locker on the team’s proverbial last day of school.  He took a moment to reflect on his rookie season.

“There were a lot of ups and downs, like a rollercoaster ride,” Henry said.  “There was a lot of learning, but I’m looking forward to taking everything this year and the experience that I got and really attacking the offseason trying to get better.”
