Sixteen soccer student-athletes recognized by SEC

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Sixteen University of Arkansas soccer student-athletes were named to the 2008 Southeastern Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll, as announced by the league office recently. With 16 Razorbacks recognized, Arkansas had the most soccer student-athletes of any SEC soccer team named to the list.

The honorees include graduating seniors Whitney Allison, Megan Fawley, Sarah Gwisdala, Lindsay Patterson and Abbey Wilburn, juniors Jackie Booker, Kat Moffett, Kathleen Paulsen, Kim Schlief, Rachel Smith and Sophie Wentz, sophomores Sam Bolton, Beth McVean, Erin Moskos and Kelly O’Connor and redshirt freshman Dani Alexander.

The 16 soccer players were among 31 Arkansas student-athletes selected to the conference’s fall academic honor roll.

To be selected, a student-athlete must have a grade point average of 3.00 or better including summer school; may be a scholarship, a letterwinner or a non-scholarship two-year varsity team member; must have successfully completed 24 of 36 quarter hours of non-remedial academic credit two a degree; and he or she must have been a member of the varsity team for the sport’s entire NCAA Championship segment.
