Smith Boyd released from Lady'Back Basketball

FAYETTEVILLE – Freshmen Tanisha Smith and incoming signee Morgan Boyd have been released by the University of Arkansas, Lady Razorback head coach Tom Collen announced today.

Smith averaged 6.6 ppg and 3.4 rpg as a part-time starter last season. The 6-1 forward requested and received permission to transfer. Boyd was an early signee with the Lady Razorbacks from Olathe, Kan., but has been granted release from her National Letter of Intent.

“We wish them well and hope they find success wherever their search takes them,” Collen said. “We’re focused on moving ahead with our rebuilding process, and look forward to working with the players who are committed to the University of Arkansas.”

Collen became head coach for the Lady Razorbacks at the end of the 2006-07 season. Arkansas was 18-13 last season, finishing 10th in the SEC at 3-11.
