Soccer and volleyball on the radio

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The University of Arkansas soccer and volleyball teams began their fifth year broadcasting events on campus radio last weekend.

The Razorbacks team up with KXUA, 88.3 FM, a student-run, campus radio station airing several events each semester.

This year, soccer and volleyball have 15 regular-season matches and all postseason events scheduled to broadcast. Soccer opened the broadcast schedule last weekend airing the Vanderbilt and Kentucky matches.

Volleyball opens Wednesday with a home match against Ole Miss and continues with a road contest at LSU Oct. 16.

Associate Media Relations Director Robby Edwards provides the soccer play-by-play while Assistant Media Relations Director Zach Lawson calls the volleyball matches. Students from the media relations office handle the color duties.

KXUA will also air Razorback softball games in the spring. All three events have a five-minute pregame show followed by a postgame wrap-up.

In addition to airing on KXUA, the broadcasts can be heard on-line at ArkansasRazorbacks.com.
