FAYETTEVILLE — Carrying the momentum of the program’s most successful non-conference, the Razorback soccer team returns to the friendly confines of Razorback Field on Friday, Sept. 20, to host Ole Miss (6-1-1) on the opening night of Southeastern Conference (SEC) action. Kick-off is set for 7 p.m. in Fayetteville where Arkansas is 5-0 this season. Arkansas, who is currently ranked No. 5 in the NSCAA South Region, enters SEC play with a program-best 7-1 record, highlighted by five one-goal victories and three overtime triumphs. Ole Miss, who is No. 3 in the NSCAA South Region, owns a 6-1-1 record. Neither team has been shutout this season. "I think everyone is excited for Friday,” said head coach Colby Hale. “Ole Miss is very good and the SEC home opener is always exciting. I believe we have the best fans in the country, and I have no doubt they will show up and be a huge help to us on Friday! We had a very good week of training and I think we are ready to compete." The Razorbacks are currently tied with South Carolina and Georgia for the most wins by any SEC team with seven. Arkansas is 9-10-1 all-time in SEC openers and 8-11-1 in SEC home openers. The Razorbacks have won their last two SEC home openers, defeating No. 18 Kentucky in 2012 and Ole Miss in 2011. The match will be featured as Social Media Night where fans showing that they “Like” Razorback Soccer on Facebook or “Follow” @RazorbackSoccer on Twitter receive $1 admission. Also, the first 200 fans that stop by the promotions table located inside the gates and show that they follow Razorback Soccer on social media will receive a voucher for a free popcorn.
