FAYETTEVILLE — The University of Arkansas soccer team will attempt to build onto its 2-0 record on Friday by playing host to the St. Louis Billikens (1-1). The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at Razorback Field.
"St Louis will be a great test," head coach Colby Hale says. "They are athletic, well coached and work extremely hard. We are in a good place and I believe the team is up for the challenge."
Arkansas began the season by sweeping its opening weekend opponents Kansas and SMU. The Razorbacks defeated the Jayhawks by a score of 1-0 off of an early goal by sophomore forward Ashleigh Ellenwood. SMU was the next opponent to be taken down by the Razorbacks by a score of 3-2 in the second overtime period. Arkansas will also feature the reigning Southeastern Conference Player of the Week in junior Allie Tripp. The Billikens come into the match having a 1-1 record with a win over Western Michigan and a loss to Depaul by a score of 4-0. This will be the first matchup between the Razorbacks and the Billikens. The Razorbacks will continue their weekend on Sunday by traveling to Springfield, Mo., to play Missouri State on Sunday, Sept. 1. That match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. (CT).
