FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Solid play for members of the University of Arkansas women’s golf team continues at several events around the country Wednesday. Razorback redshirt freshman Kayli Quinton is tied for sixth place after first round action at the Texas Women’s Open. She opened with a one-over 72 and three strokes off the lead at the Old American Golf Club in The Colney, Texas. Redshirt freshman Olivia Lavy was tied for 29th overall after stroke play action after the first two rounds at the 113th Women’s Western Golf Association in Dayton, Ohio, and won her first round match, 4 & 3 defeating Janie Jackson. Lavy takes on Brooke Henderson of Smiths Falls, Ontario, at 7 a.m., Thursday. Sophomore Regina Plasencia was tied for seventh after the second round with a 142 but lost a close one, 1-down, to Marissa DeCola to be eliminated. Junior Hally Leadbetter tied for 13th overall with a 145 in stroke play and won her opening match, 5&4, defeating Isabelle Kane. Leadbetter faces Natalie Goodson of Hudson, Ohio, at 7:37 a.m. Former Razorback Corinna Rees tied for 15th overall with a 146 in stroke play. Rees defeated Nadia Luttner, 2&1 to move on. Rees faces Celia Kuenster of Mendota Heights, Minn., in an 8:07 a.m. tee time. Former Razorback Lucy Nunn carded a 150 in stroke play at the Public Links event at Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club Course in Norman, Okla. The par 72, 6,351- yard course saw Nunn defeat Lacey Fears of Bonaire, Ga., 5 &4 in the first match in the championship flight. Nunn faces Grace Na of Alameda, Calif., in the round of 32 on Thursday.
