"We feel extremely lucky to have the opportunity to host this great event with the Special Olympics," head coach Robert Pulliza said. "Since we have been at Arkansas, we’ve been trying to figure out a way to be involved with the organization and we are very thankful for Tonja McCone for helping make this possible. Our players and staff are really looking forward to a great day of volleyball and camaraderie."
The Razorbacks will open the day with an exhibition match at 10 a.m. for the fans and participants in attendance. Following the inter-squad scrimmage, the clinic will begin at 11 a.m. with the Arkansas players and staff leading the group in a variety of drills and exercises which will lead into the participants breaking into teams to play. The day will conclude with lunch and an autograph session.
McCone is the area director for Special Olympics Arkansas Area 3 which serves Benton, Madison and Washington counties. All participants in Saturday’s clinic will also receive a t-shirt.
