FAYETTEVILLE — Redshirt freshman outfielder Tyler Spoon was named to the Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American Team, as announced on Wednesday by Collegiate Baseball. Spoon is the 17th Razorback to earn freshman All-America honors and the first since Barrett Astin, Dominic Ficociello and Nolan Sanburn were each named freshman All-Americans in 2011. A native of Van Buren, Ark., Spoon was the top run producer for the Razorbacks in 2013, finishing the year with a team-best 49 RBI with a .288 batting average and a team-high tying four homers. Spoon ranked eighth in the SEC in RBI. He tied for the team high with 68 hits and was third on the team with seven stolen bases. Spoon finished second on the team with 11 multi-RBI games and fourth with 17 multi-hit performances. Defensively, Spoon only committed one error in 112 chances and had six outfield assists.
