Arkansas opens the outdoor season this weekend competing at the 96th Texas Relays at Mike A. Myers Stadium from Wednesday through Saturday. Meanwhile, a group of Razorback distance runners will compete at the Stanford Invitational on Friday.

Winning the NCAA Indoor high jump title by equaling the collegiate record and defeating the defending champion earned Razorback Rachel Glenn a place on the recent Bowerman watch list.

National indoor honors included three accolades for the Razorback women’s program. Chris Johnson earned Coach of the Year, Boogie Johnson received Assistant Coach of the Year, and Rachel Glenn collected Field Athlete of the Year.

Chris Johnson worked in the background as an assistant under Lance Harter for 12 years. He watched the legend rack up 7 National Titles as Head Coach. Now, Johnson is the head man for Arkansas women’s track and he’s already solidifying himself as the man for the job — winning the indoor national championship in his first season at the helm of the program.
