Spring Practice Gets Underway for Hogs
BY ANDRES FOCIL
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Houston Nutt led his Arkansas Razorbacks onto the field Sunday afternoon for the start of spring drills. The practice is the first of fourteen spring outings that the Razorbacks will take part in, culminating in a spring scrimmage on April 5.
Nutt was pleased with the day’s results.
“I though we had a really good day today, ” Nutt said. I really liked the way they moved around and it was a really good feeling to get out here after a good off-season of conditioning, running and lifting. Matt Jones did some good things at wide out, but we all know that he is a tremendous athlete. I was really pleased that the track guys all came out and gave us a good workout today. They didn’t have to come out, but they did: Eddie Jackson, Ahmad Carroll and Tom Crowder. Those guys looked very good for the first day.
“We’re really trying to emphasize no big plays, less talking and learning what we’re telling you to do, be dependable and accountable, all of those things. We had a good first day, but we have a long way to go though.”
The Razorbacks will continue practice tomorrow and have practice dates of March 10, 12 and 13th before letting out for spring break. The Hogs will then resume practice before the April 5th spring game.
